My Meditation || Steps & Practices

I've been trying to incorporate meditation in my daily life and so far, so good. Sometimes I do it longer than some days but I try to at least do 10 minutes of quiet meditation. I have been doing yoga and meditation for over 7 years, however, I was never driven enough to get into a daily practice. I just kind of did it when I "felt" like it and went to yoga when my instructors were there. But I really wanted to try creating a daily practice. I've listed below my daily tips, steps and practices that I personally do for meditation. I either do this all in the morning or sporadically during the day. Meditation every day for me has helped stress, anxiety, my health in addition to just letting my energy and creativity flow in all aspects of my life! 

EFT Tapping

Here is the youtube link that I've found the most helpful. When I'm really in the tapping, I see instantaneous results, within a good 5-10 minutes sometimes.

EFT tapping is a technique where you tap certain points of your body and skin to help bring up energy, motion and these wavelengths help your brain and heart manifest what you're wanting.

Meditation

Although these are all forms of meditation, just a simple silent meditation works great. I sometimes just do it when I get up from bed, and sit up in my bed criss cross and sit in silence in gian mudra (om position with fingers) and just breath heavy for 5 minutes and then in silence and light breathing for the other 5 minutes. This helps start my day and get rid of any negative thoughts and tension I've been carrying from the day before. 

Daily Affirmation Cards 

These are an awesome daily reminder of what's important. They are tons of versions that are basically like playing cards with inspirational quotes for the day. Read them all at once or day by day. I normally read 2-3 a day and when a card resonates the most with me, I leave it on my desk for the day. Here is an awesome deck.

Chanting

I love chanting because I've always loved singing and since I've started chanting, I've found myself even more passionate and driven to sing. At first for me, chanting was scary and weird. But when you get into it - it can help dissolve a lot of issue and built of stress. The thing with chanting is when you say specific words or tones of the mantra, it releases specific toxins and energies in your system due to those tones. All kinds of chanting are different but I've found it very powerful and fun! 

Below are some of my favorite chanting cds! :) Some chanting is in monotone without a melody but you can do whatever works best for you.

Self-Care: Tea Time, Candles, Bath, Essential Oils 

This is a simple easy way to relax. Before I go to sleep, recently I've been spraying some lavender mist on my pillow, what this does is helps you have a soothing sleep, release tension, anxiety and stress. It can help build up energy in addition to helping headaches! 

For my personal self-care, I like to take a bath, get a massage and get my nails done. It may be different for you + that's totally cool, just find what makes you feel great in yourself and your body and go do it - that's what self care means. :) 

Daily List of Gratitude 

The most important thing for me is always expressing gratitude, even in bad situations. I'm not perfect in this however, I try my best to always feel grateful. A way to do this is to make a daily list of at least 10 things you're grateful for. Normally when I get into the momentum of writing this list, I end up writing up to 50 things. You can literally just jot down 1 word. You can even make it a bonding experience with a loved one, family member or friend and decided to say to each other 3-4 things you are grateful for in the day. By saying it to someone and hearing what they are grateful for too, it is two fold and so powerful! 

Daily/Monthly + Weekly Goals

I like to establish monthly goals or intentions for that next month or future goals, or things I'd like to work on or grow with. It's exciting to look back and previous months and see what you accomplished. However this is just supposed to be fun to jot down creative ideas and manifestations you have, it's not meant to be a deadline where you get upset it you don't attain it for the next month. Just write a small list, let it go and revisit!

How To Change Your Negative Thoughts

It’s true, a thought is just a thought and thats’ it. Sometimes we feed into our thoughts and let them take over, when we should be listening to our heart.

Thoughts tend to put you down, have you doubt yourself and make you feel discouraged. We need to understand that our thoughts are just thoughts, and we need to just observe them rather then let them take over. 

Your thoughts limit you and with this limitation, hold you back from achieving success or giving you the courage to follow your dreams. In order to not be controlled by your mind, you need to first understand that your thoughts are not who you are, they are just what’s inside your head.

Secondly, you need to start to observe your thoughts and not be so controlled by them. For example, if you are walking down the street and you start annotating a negative thought pattern, or judging someone walking by, just observe it, acknowledge it and let it go. If you let this negative belief and constraint control you, it will just be the start of a negative thought pattern. You know, the  pattern that brings you down into a dark black hole of just negative thoughts. 

Beliefs are just your understanding and thoughts on a certain belief. A belief is just a thought you are constantly thinking, it can be changed, thoughts and beliefs are not set in stone. If you have a negative thought, if you have a doubtful thought, know it can be changed. 

For example, let's say a negative thought is being taken over about your job. You are doubting your ability to succeed because your thoughts are telling you you're not not good enough because a new employee just got hired and you feel they're doing much better than you. First of all, you should not let these thoughts affect you and you should not be doubting. You were hired in the first place because you know what you're doing. You need to stay strong, keep going, keep working and keep growing.

So what can you do about your thoughts? How can you change your negative thoughts and your negative patterns to positives patterns?

Wake up with gratitude - Just by thinking of a few things you're grateful for at the start of the day can completely alter your day, trust me, try it!

Release your resistance and doubt - Another blog post was written on this last Feeling Good Friday with lots of tips and exercises. You can view it here. 

Become aware of your inner thoughts and dialogue and know they are just your thoughts and nothing more. You have control over you. Once you understand this, and once you just observe your thoughts, it's huge. Hard at first and it takes practice, but you can do it! And you should try because once you understand this, you are on your way to unlocking your highest power! 

Be happy with what is. Don't indulge in what you don't have and don't feel sad about it. Feel happy that you're alive and well, that you just aced your final, or that you just got a promotion. There is always at least one thing we can appreciate and be happy about in our current situation. Once you find that one, find another, then it will be like a domino affect. The same as it is with your negative thoughts. 

Understand that you can do anything, be anything you want in your life and you can't let anyone doubt you or put you down. Ultimately, it's the THOUGHTS you have towards those doubts by people that make you feel like you need to give up and give in to society social constructions. Don't. 

Take a moment away from your phone. This is a key exercise to help overcome negative thought patterns and something I try to work on the daily. We don't realize it, but we are subconsciously embedding negative thoughts by what we're reading, seeing, comparing through social media. Put your phone down, take a walk, talk with a loved one or take a nap, even. 

Write it out! Make a clear cut list of the negative thoughts on your mind. Don't be scared about it either, once it's all on paper, you can look at it, realize it's just a thought and move onto new thoughts. For example, write your negative thoughts: I'm not pretty, I hate my job, I feel lonely. Literally, anything you want, as detailed or as vague as you want. Number one helpful tip of this exercise is for you to really stand back and see how strong your negative thoughts are and two, you can get it all out and let it go. 

There are many other techniques to change negative thoughts but it all starts with you! By these simple techniques, I guarantee, they will help even in the slightest to diminish your negative thoughts, help you overcome your doubts by not paying big attention to your negative thoughts, so you can then find your purpose and achieve it.

11 Ways To Motivate Yourself

  1. Shift your negative thoughts to positive ones. This is an important first step to motivate yourself. There are many ways you can shift your thoughts and vibration, it depends on you, you can do this through music, lists, rewarding yourself, cleaning up clutter, getting out of bed, shifting to a good mood, flashing a smile, asking questions, growing confidence and making mistakes.
  2. Music: Listen to anything your heart desires. Listen to what makes your heart sing and what gives you goosebumps. Sing along, dance along.
  3. Lists: Write down what you have to do and DO IT, write down your dreams, goals, what you're feeling, what you want from life, what you want from the future, what you want right from this moment. Write lists and write paragraphs, write stories. Write and write (or type), after you will have a feeling of relief if you are journaling and you will feel organized.
  4. After you complete something on your to-do lists, like doing the laundry or doing the dishes or even accomplishing a goal for your career, reward yourself. This will put you in an instant great mood! You can do this by splurging on a new dress or eating a bar of chocolate. What I do when I reward myself is pick up a Sugarfish to go box! You can do whatever you love to reward yourself.
  5. Clean up Clutter
  6. Get out of bed, get dressed, make yourself presentable and rock your DAY!
  7. We often get in a rut and are not motivated when we are in a bad mood, when something is wrong, when we are in our mind and in our ego. A way to get motivated is to put yourself is a good mood. You can do this simply by shifting your thoughts, however, sometimes this can be difficult so you can do something you love to do, a hobby of yours, or even speaking to someone you love. When you are in a bad mood, you will procrastinate and nothing will ever get done, however, do whatever you can to turn your bad mood into a good one.
  8. When you wake up in the morning, flash a smile to yourself or in the mirror. It is often showed that smiling can increase your mood and also takes less muscles than a frown!
  9. Ask yourself questions and allow the honest answers to come up. Don't resist an answer you don't want to here from your heart. A major way you can stay motivated and get motivated is by solving a question that has been stressing you out. It is important to know yourself and be completely honest and this will allow you to stay motivated daily!
  10. Confidence: It is important to build up confidence if you want to stay motivated. You need to know that whatever you want in life, you can have it. And you need to be confident when others may try to put you down or step on your dreams. Do not take this personal, it is letting you know you are on the right track and lets their insecurities shine through. BE THE DIFFERENCE, NOT THE SAME as everyone else telling you, you can't do anything. Build up your confidence through your momentum.
  11. It is important to make mistakes. When you make a mistake, don't fall in a rut, use it as a sign to get back up again. When you fail, it is a good thing and will teach you a lesson. Don't allow this to break your motivation. Whenever something falls through, just let it pass and pick back up.

Manifestation Exercises

If you want to achieve your desires but not sure what you can do to start the process - this post is for you! Here are some exercises that will help you create a clear picture of what you want, and allow you to bring it into your life!

Overview:

  • Express gratitude
  • Clear your mind
  • Visualize
  • Make a list of what you want - vision boards, and make sure to use "I AM" not "I WANT"
  • Focus on what you have, not on what you lack

First, focus on gratitude. By making a mental or physical list of at least 20 things you are grateful for can shift your mood. By shifting your mood, it raises your vibration and you can start to allow what you want to come in. It is an important first start to a manifestation process. You can think of over 100 things you are grateful for but make a list of at least 20 every day to jump start your day.

Another way you can allow more things to come to your existence is by clearing your mind. You can meditate, go to the gym, work out and write your feelings and thoughts down in a journal. It is important to let go of all resistance and anger or frustration during your manifestation process.

After focusing on gratitude and clearing your mind, find out what it is exactly you want. Sometimes we may want something, but we are not giving a clear picture to the universe of what we actually want. Be specific on what you want to manifest. You can find out exactly what you want through visualization. Give yourself 5-10 minutes everyday to just visualize what is it you are hoping to get or achieve. Make sure you don't go too deep into your visualization because then you can become fixated and stuck in what you want and become anxious, scared or  frustratedA good 5-10 minutes a day is perfect for visualizing what is it specifically you want. For example, a new job or a new car. Visualize yourself in the specific model and color and type of car you want. Visualize yourself in the car in your driveway or driving with the top down. This helps get the flow of the universe going. Make sure you have no resistance or "I won't ever have this" mindset during your visualization. A tip for visualization is think of it as a daydream, your dreams that are infinite and miraculous. Therefore, no negative beliefs should be attached.

Make a list of what you want. It can be one thing over and over or a ton of things you heart desires. You can also do this through vision boards, which were expressed in a past post and can be viewed by clicking: HERE. By visually writing down and constantly viewing pictures or words of what you want, it will be imprinting subconsciously in your brain and given out to the universe and then brought to you.

An important tip for making a list is write "I am" before the statement. If you write, "I want ___", you are telling the universe you LACK that. If you say I am, it is as if you have already achieved it.

Don't focus on what you lack, focus on what you have. Yes, you are manifesting something new, a physical or emotional thing, but if you get so wrapped up into it and you are not appreciating what your current life situation is or you are not appreciating what you have already, the universe will not bring what you are desiring. If you are wishing for a physical attribute, focus on the beauty of YOU. It is important to involve self-love in the manifestation process.

11 Ways to Find Your Passion

A Life With Peace strongly believes in following your dreams and reaching your highest potential. We believe each and every human being is on earth for a sole purpose and this purpose is found through a personal passion. A lot of people are sucked into the forms of society and believe that following their passion won't result in any success, because you need to pay the bills, you know! However, we are here to tell you that your passion can drive your financial stability. The world believes dreams can't be fulfilled due to the large amount of people that also want it or the fact that no money may be involved in it. You need to understand that with passion and knowing your passion, believing, working and not giving up, you will attain your passion. However, some people are uncertain on what their passion may be! Here are 11 ways you can start to figure it out.

  1. Start by visualizing. Remove any doubt attached, especially the "I cant's". Imagine a world where anything is possible, and no matter what, financially, you will be stable. Think of any hobby or interest that comes to mind, anything? What do you like to do in this moment? Do you like sports? Working out? Painting? Being with family? It can be the smallest thing you enjoy doing.
  2. If nothing comes to your mind, go back to your childhood, what did you like to do? Is there something specific you said you wanted to do when you were a kid? Did you do any extra curricular activities that you enjoyed doing? Sometimes as a child that loves something so much and then growing up being taught it may not be unattainable can turn off the interest, however, revisit it.
  3. If nothing comes to mind, in the next few days, start observing your surroundings. Start looking at people, start reading, researching, anything to give you ideas to what you may be interested in.
  4. Take a piece of paper and write anything you like to do and don't think about it, just write. Sometimes it helps more to get it out on paper than to think it. It allows your brain activity to move faster and not skip.
  5. Think of people you've met, seen or observed that you were inspired by. Talk to them if you can, research them and see what they're about. Find out how they got there, why they got to where they are, and what they are doing. Most of the time, they will have some strong advice to share. By looking at people that inspire you, you may catch a glimpse of something you'd love to do as well.
  6. Meditate. Often times when you meditate and sit silently and quiet your mind, the answers will just come to you. It might just be a tiny thought that will spark a huge change in your life.
  7. Is there anything that you do that makes you lose track of time? It can be something like video games, singing. Anything that you know passes the time fast. That is a definite sign of a strong passion.
  8. If you really don't have anything you are interested in, try something crazy and new. Go out of your comfort zone and maybe that is what your passion is. Being comfortable in your discomfort is an important tool to utilize when following your passions and dreams.
  9. Open your heart to new things. Sometimes living a life with a closed heart with distract you from ever finding your passion. You need to release any resistance, hate, regret and forgive your life and the past and move forward. Not finding your passion may be an indicator you might need to evaluate yourself and your values and beliefs.
  10. Ask yourself, if I had NOTHING stopping me and someone told me I can do anything and everything I want right now, what would that be? The first thing you think of is usually an indication.
  11. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, just let go and have fun! The answers WILL come! When you are having fun, you are allowing. When you are allowing, your body and mind are relaxed and all things flow naturally to you!

EFT tapping is a powerful healing technique that allows people to let go of the past and to create for the present and future.

What is EFT tapping?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. EFT tapping is a healing technique to allow you to shift your physical, mental and emotional needs to anything you’re desiring. Anything can be cured and fixed within this technique and anything you want WILL come if you follow this without doubt and resistance. EFT can help with emotional issues but can work as far to physical issues such as chronic pain and other issues you might have physically. The resolution of these issues results in a long-lasting peaceful life continuing to fulfill all your desires and fix up your issues. 

EFT can erase the problems of your past and create a fulfilling and successful future. By tapping on specific parts of your meridian levels, you are stimulating parts of your body that lift you up. It creates a balanced system to allow peace and resolution. 

Short History of EFT Tapping

Adopted from the Chinese, they noticed that the meridians in the body contain a complex system of energy circuits. By tapping the energy circuits, it creates an alignment within the energy circuits and allows you to be free of all regret and doubt, allowing you to bring in the amazing things life has to offer. Much evidence and science tells us that this an accurate healing technique. 

Emofree.com showed a very powerful quote that really describes the EFT process: “The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system”

This quote really explains EFT tapping because we are balancing our energy system by tapping on specific points and this is where all our negative emotions reside. When all our negative emotions are moved away and taken out, we are then able to focus on positive affirmations and create anything we want since doubt is no longer there.

How to do EFT Tapping

Below is a picture and description of the EFT tapping points that are essential to do EFT tapping correctly.

KC: The Karate Chop point (abbreviated KC) is located at the center of the fleshy part of the outside of your hand (either hand) between the top of the wrist and the base of the baby finger or....stated differently....the part of your hand you would use to deliver a karate chop.

TOH: On the top of the head. If you were to draw a line from one ear, over the head, to the other ear, and another line from your nose to the back of your neck, the TOH point is where those two lines would intersect.

EB: At the beginning of the eyebrow, just above and to one side of the nose. This point is abbreviated EB for beginning of the EyeBrow.

SE: On the bone bordering the outside corner of the eye. This point is abbreviated SE for Side of the Eye.

UE: On the bone under an eye about 1 inch below your pupil. This point is abbreviated UE for Under the Eye.

UN: On the small area between the bottom of your nose and the top of your upper lip. This point is abbreviated UN for Under the Nose.

Ch: Midway between the point of your chin and the bottom of your lower lip. Even though it is not directly on the point of the chin, we call it the chin point because it is descriptive enough for people to understand easily. This point is abbreviated Ch for Chin.

CB: The junction where the sternum (breastbone), collarbone and the first rib meet. To locate it, first place your forefinger on the U-shaped notch at the top of the breastbone (about where a man would knot his tie). From the bottom of the U, move your forefinger down toward the navel 1 inch and then go to the left (or right) 1 inch. This point is abbreviated CB for CollarBone even though it is not on the collarbone (or clavicle) per se. It is at the beginning of the collarbone and we call it the collarbone point because that is a lot easier to say than "the junction where the sternum (breastbone), collarbone and the first rib meet."

UA: On the side of the body, at a point even with the nipple (for men) or in the middle of the bra strap (for women). It is about 4 inches below the armpit. This point is abbreviated UA for Under the Arm.

The Law of Attraction simply means you attract what you think and focus upon. All that you are is your thoughts, your ideas and beliefs. By simply shifting your thoughts to positive ones and manifesting your desires, you WILL receive them. You do this by trusting the universe and losing all resistance and doubt. However, this can mean both negative and positive. We use the Law of Attraction whether we realize it or not, by thinking negative thoughts and subconsciously manifesting negative situations, we are negatively using the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is a magnet effect that allows you to bring in anything your mind desires. When releasing all the resistance attached to your “want” and manifested it by using the Law Of Attraction, you will attract what you are focusing on.

How to use the Law of Attraction

  • You need to quiet your mind and relax your thoughts
  • Begin to visualize and imagine what you’re trying to attract
  • Some examples can be a new car, a new house, a new career, a new love, some incoming money, a new friend, a successful upcoming test or speech or job interview – the ideas are endless, it’s whatever pertains to YOU!
  • Believe in the universe and trust the universe to give you what you are trying to attract
  • Release your doubt and your resistance
  • When you finally have calmed your thoughts and gathered what you want to attract, ask the universe for it
  • Visualize it
  • Day dream about your manifestation and pretend like you have already obtained it, feel it in your thoughts. Day dream for no more than 10 minutes (because more than this can allow you to leave your original manifestation and it will become scattered)
  • Extra things you can do are to write it down, post a picture of what it is on your nightstand so daily you wake up looking at it, constantly wake up and day dream about it and look at your pictures or what you wrote down
  • Continue your life and “set it and forget it” in the universe

Vision Boards

Vision boards allow you to expand your mind and manifest your present and your future. There is so much evidence supporting the effectiveness and strong influence vision boards have on your reality. A vision board is a page/notebook/poster/wall/box of your goals and desired manifestations, including what you like to do at the current moment.

For example, maybe you like to sing and hope to one day sing in front of large audiences. Creating a vision board with your favorite singers, you singing, concerts you have been to, tickets etc. and place it somewhere you can see it everyday. This will be of great influence on your mind and it will ultimately begin to show up in your life.  

Your mind relies heavily on your imagination and does not know the difference between what is happening and what is in your imagination. So, if your mind believes it is already happening and you visualize it enough so that you can believe it too, the world begins to show you signs of it in your life.

Cut magazine pictures, drawings and photos of something you enjoy doing right now and you will begin to see it  manifesting  for you. It is proven that by creating a vision board and leaving it visible for your eye to see everyday, you are engaging the Universe and your mind into believing your goals are already there and easy to attain. This allows a real tangible result and will lead to you accomplishing your dreams!

By creating a vision board, you can tap into your mind and your goals.

Create a sequence of events that you want to see in your future  as well as your current hobbies, or events. A vision board is a mix of images you pick from magazines, personal pictures or your own handwritten material. The ideas are endless! It is important that you take time each day to look at your board and imagine and visualize the feeling you would have when doing this thing you love. More importantly, DO NOT introduce doubt in any way. Believing your dreams are possible is the only way you can make things happen!

The Triangle Exercise

In the triangle exercise, taken from Mike Dooley’s book, “Leveraging the Universe: 7 Steps to Engaging Life’s Magic”, he explores how to manifest your dreams while not complicating what should be done by you and what should be done by the universe. When first learning about the laws of the universe, some people may doubt what the universe can do and some people want to put everything on the universe – believing they don’t have to do anything to manifest their desires. Mike Dooley explores the specificity of this, and states that you must do SOMETHING in order to manifest your dream, but HOW it happens, is up to the universe. A way to organize this is through the triangle exercise. This allows you to organize your thoughts showing what you should do and what the universe will take care of. The triangle exercise can be for anything you’d like to manifest, for example, a new job, a new relationship or a new dress.

 Step 1:

-Make the triangle

-Cut a line through it vertically

-One side with your name, the other side with the universe

 Step 2: Your Side

-Make a list of what YOU can do towards your dream

-Physically, logically and spiritually

-Some examples

Write a list about what to do, a plan

If you’re a writer, write more

If you’re in sales, make more cold calls

If you are a singer, keep singing songs or write new lyrics

If you are in need of a new relationship, join an online dating website

Step 3: Universe Side

-Think of miracles, magic, opportunities that the Universe can offer

-Some examples

New, helpful people coming in your life

A surprise check in the mail to help buy your dress/car/anything

Help you wake up with inspiration, new ideas to solve your dream

Get over a fear

 Step 4: Start focusing on your side and let the universe do its magic!

11 Ways to be in the NOW

  1. Start by finding your passion and doing what you love. Or you can focus on a hobby. When you’re in the mindset and the action of doing what you love - you are automatically in the moment and released from all thoughts and negative emotions.
  2. Try to show gratitude for what you have now. Not for what you lacked in the past, or what you currently want or want for the future. Focus on what you have in this moment. You can start by expressing gratitude for your breath, sight, hearing and then go to food, family, friends, a house, a job… Once you do this, the list will just continue itself.
  3. Try to get out of your mind - be aware of your mind and your thoughts, but do not DWELL on these thoughts, experience them and let them be, do not hold on to them.
  4. Let each moment pass, and do not dwell on the moment before, or the moment that will occur after.
  5. Wherever you are, crack a smile. To yourself, in public, to a stranger, or a relative or friend or colleague.
  6. Try not to worry about the small or major things in your life. Take a breath and let it go.
  7. Release your resistance to your stress and current things going on in your life. 
  8. Wake up and take a moment to appreciate the day, and manifest that you will have an amazing and fulfilled day filled with many opportunities.
  9. Create ways to promote your positivity - you can do this by random acts of kindness, having a jar in your room where you place positive affirmation or even a vision board - a board that you create that shows your future manifestations.
  10. Meditate, sing, walk, exercise or any type of stimulation to motivate and inspire the mind
  11. Lastly, just focus on the moment of NOW, because the past has vanished and future does not exist yet. All that exists is NOW. 

Whatever is to be - already is - so just BE
